An ‘excellence award’ for the employee value proposition and marketing campaign developed for Suncor Energy.

The Gold Quill Awards program recognizes business communication excellence globally, and is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious awards programs in the industry. The excellence award is top acknowledgement of strategic communication skills and outcomes.

An employee value proposition (talent brand or employee brand), defines and aligns how people on the outside perceive working at a certain company, and how that company’s employees experience their workplace. A strategic program ensures the right people are recruited, top employees stay, and communications are clear, consistent and effective.

KW Communications led the development of a campus recruitment campaign shortly after the Suncor/Petro-Canada merger, leading a cross-business team and providing a solution ahead of the development of a new corporate brand in order to meet a high-risk value driver. The resulting campaign was agile, multi-media and targeted various audience segments.

The program was also highlighted as ‘best in show’ at that year’s awards presentation for its research-based approach and successful results.

It was also awarded an emerging media award and various other accolades through vendor companies.

Oilweek award

KW Communications led the development of Encana’s first annual report following the split of the previous Encana entity into Encana and Cenovus, positioning the report as a marketing tool for the new company as well as required disclosure, resulting in multiple Oilweek awards including ‘best in show.’
